The Marquis of Hartington.Secretary of State for India, has addiessed a communication to the “ Times” to the effect that there is no foundation whatever for the statements recently pub lished that a convention in the settlement of the frontier difficulty with Turkey has been signed by the Greek Government. The latter, Lord Hartington states,has up to the present Turkey had not agreed to the terms of the convention. Germany'and Australia. Berlin, May, 30. Prince Bismarck has presented a memorial to the Reichstag urging that a subsidy be authorised to a line of steamers with a view to the extension of trade between Germany and Australia.
