[By Cable]. Adelaide, May 26. The race for the Adelaide Birthday Cup was run to day, and resulted in a victory for Mata by two lengths, Progress second, and Crystal third. The starters wcreSavanaka, Suwarrow, Odd Trick, The Vagabond, Lothair, Pawnbroker, Eothchild, Venus, President, and Kifleman. The course was very slippery owing to recent heavy rains.
