TIMAEU—THIS DAY. (Before R. Beetham Esq., R.M.) THE queen’s HEALTH. Three inebriates, first offenders who looked as if going to races did not agree with them, were fined ss, each with the usual sad alternative. SEBVE HIM BIGHT. Jas. McCarthy,'a rough looking fellow, was’charged with insulting females yesterday in the Main South Road. The arresting constable deposed that yesterday afternoon while on duty in the Main South Hoad he saw the accused walk up to four females and behave in an insulting and reprehensible manner towards them. His dress was disarranged at the time and he appeared to have been drinking. The defendant indignantly denied the charge. His Worship reminded him that he had been up five times previously. The accused admitted the soft imEeachment, but said that he had never sen charged up to this with anything more serious than drunkenness. His Worship said that he had this time been guilty of something more serious than drunkenness, Respectable females were not to be insulted in the street with impunity. Accused would be fined ii 10 or undergo two months’ imprisonment with hard labor. The Court then adjourned.
