Government Notices. V. R. ZEALAND RAILWAYS. (Christchurch Section.) GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE MEETING AT TIMARU, ON QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY, MAY 24, 1881. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. f RAINS will Run from Timaru to the Racecourse Platform at 12.30 p.m. and 1.15 p.m., and Racecourse Platform to Timarn at 4.30 p.m., and 4.45 p.m. Fares—Timaru to Racecourse Platform, including admission to the Course —first class, 2s 6d ; second class (or seated wag ms) 2s. Passengers from Wa-ffictykc for the Racecourse Platform must purchase Love's tickets, and those from stations on the Albury branch for the Racecourse Platform, must purchase Washdykc tickets. The ordinary time table for trains to and from Timaru w'll be altered as follows (on May 24 oily) ; Albury Branch—The 7.10 a.ra. from Timaru to Albury will start at 8 a.ra., and will be 50 minutes lat r than usual at all stations to destination. The 9.20 a.ra. from Albury will leave at 10 a.m., and Pleasant Point at 11 a.m., arriving in Timaru at 11.45 a.m. The 3 30 p.m. from Timaru will leave at 4 p.m., and will stop at the Racecourse Platform to pickup passenger, starting thence immediately after the last adve tised race, arriving at Albury about 0.10 p.m. The 5.45 n.m. from Albury will leave at G. 15 p.m., arriving at Timarn at 8. p.m. South Line.—The 4.30 p.m. special from the Racecourse Platform will be the train for Oamaru, leaving Timaru at 5.15 pm, a d running 45 minutes later than usual. Waimatc Branch. —The 0. 17 p.m. from Sludholme Junction to Waimate will leave at 0.7 p.m. and an extra trip will be run to meet the train from Timaru. Passengers for the north line will be picked up at Washdyke (ex 4.30 p.m. special from Racecourse Platform) by the ordinary 4.35 p.m. train from Timaru. The South Express train will stop at Washdyke, and passengers for the Racecourse Platform can go forward from Washdykc per special which leaves Timaru for the Racecourse Platform at 12.30 p.m, No goods traffic on that day. FURTHER SALE OP SECTIONS IN THE PAHIHAKA BLOCK. Principal Land Office, Carlyle, May 12, 1881. THE Crown Lands as under will he open for application for cash, at the prices named, on Monday, June 20 next, and every lawful day thereafter until sold, at the Land Offices, Carlyle, Hawera, and New Plymouth. SCHEDULE. Cape Survey District. Description of the Land. —This land is situate on the sea-coast, near Cape Egmont, twenty-two to twenty-five miles south of New Plymouth. A good metalled road, being part of the main coast-line from Hawera to New Plymouth, forms the eastern boundary of the block. The land is level and open, well watered, and fertile. Terms of Sale.—One-fourth of the pur-chase-money to be paid on application, and the balance to the Receiver of_ Land Revenue at New Plymouth within one calendar month from date of application, otherwise the deposit will be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land thenceforth will be null and void. Crown-grant fees to be paid on completion of the purchase. In the event of two or more applications for the same land being made on the same day, the upset price at which such land shall be put up at auction shall be the price stated above. The above sections have been temporarily withheld from sale, but they are now offered to the public with the unsold sections in Blocks IV. and VIII., which were opened for sale for cash on the 4tb of April last. NOTICE is hereby given that all persons who have become liable to taxation under the above Act since the Assessment Roll for 1880-81 was made up are required to send statements of their property not later than the 15th day of June. Persons now on the roll who have acquired further property sbice the above roll was completed are required to sen t in statemeuts showing such further property, whether real or personal. J. All persons taxable under the above Act forthejear 1880-81, who have neglected to make returns thereunder, are rarned that they will be immediately proceeded against for such neglect, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act. NOTICE. WANTED TO PURCHASE OR LEASE— A SECTION of Land, in or near Timaru, suitable for the erection of Grain Stores. Must be in a position that they can be connected with the Railway by a Siding. Also. Wanted a Business Site in the Town for Offices and Warehouse, cither with or without buildings already on it.
