[By Telegraph.]
Napier, May 9. Alluding to the Tararua disaster in his sermon, the Rev. Mr Sidey racognised , a judgment from heaven, and said by overwork the Company had lowered the morals of their men. The Company also manifested supreme contempt for the bearing of divine law and moral wellbeing of some of the communities with whom their trade brings them in contact, in the treatment of the Sabbath To this there has scarcely been a mutter or protest on the part of those communities whom they affect. The Company had been left to pursue their own way regardless of any claim of heaven or earth. The “almighty dollar’’has been one grand consideration in all their arrangements.
