S. 0. Times Office, -Saturday Evening. The grain market is very quiet, the bulk of the stuff being in and little doing excepting ex store. Oats are now plentiful however. We quote them at about Is 3d to Is 6d for good milling; w heat 3s 3d to 3s 6d average; quality. Grass seed, none offering this week. Farmers’ are now preparing land for sowing, hence the scarcity. Wnat is to be had we quote at from 3s 8d to 4s. Sydney, May 6. Hennessy’s brandy, case, 36s 6d ; bulk quarters, 12s 3d. Adelaide, May 6. Wheat is firm at 4s ,6d. Town flour is quoted at £lO 10?, and country brands at £9 10s to £9 18. 5 per cent New Zealand 1889 loan is quoted at 103^,.ex dividend ; 5 per cent 10-40 New , Zealand loan, unchanged at 104£, and 4J per cent 1879-1904 New Zealand loan, 101. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, in quoted at 48s ; New Zealand wheat at 44s ; Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, remains at 83s ; Australian best beef tallow,34s ; best mutton, 365. There is fair demand for most descriptions of Australian hides.
