A FAMILY CIRCLE.
[to the editor] Sir, —A correspondent signed himself “ Mort ” writes to your paper asking for some light to be thrown on the proceedings of the Cemetery Commission. The fact is we have got the same ring ruling our Education Board, Cemetery Coinmission, and various other bodies in Timaru, and what the ring does must not be called in question by anyone not in the family circle. I think the best way for them to do in future would be to allow Mr to fill up all the situations in the various bodies with which he is connected with his own nominees, and to save the public money and not put outsiders to the trouble and annoyance of wasting time gettting testimonials to try to obtain what is already given away. I think the applicants in this case of the Cemetery Commissioners would have good ground for an action of damages. It might be as well to call a public meeting to consider how to get rid of the ring.—I am, &c., H. 0.
