TIMARU—THIS DAY,

(Before R. Beetham Esq., R.M.) skylarking. T. Mclntyre.was charged by William Hope with breaking a window of the Railway Hotel, Pleasant Point, valued at 15s. It appeared that the glass was broken accidentally, and as the result of skylarking. The case was dismissed, His Worship telling the prosecutor he had better be very careful for the future how he gave people in charge, or he might get himself into trouble. CIVIL CASES. B. Jones v, R. Stansell--Claim £lB 4s. Mr Jameson for plaintiff, Mr Hamersley for defendant. This case had been adjourned from last Tuesday at the request of counsel for argument. Mr Hamersley now said that he would let judgment go as he did not think he could argue the point raised by him last week with any prospect of success. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed and costs £3 4s. In the following cases judgment was given for plaintiff with costs : C. F. Ross v. J. Gason, £l3 7s. Whiter. Robert Forrest, £7 16s 6d. Raymond v. Coram, £2 2s 7d. Thompson and Another v. R. Waugh, £2 10s, J. W. White v. Edwards, £6 4s 4d. R. Orton r. J. Matthews, claim—3s 9d. Judgment for Is 9d and costs.
