S. C. Times Office, Monday Evening. Messrs George Priest and Co. report holding their usual sale of farm and other produce on Saturday. Flour (millers’), £9 per ton ; farmers’ flour, £.7‘Bnd £8 per r tori ; bats, slightly damaged, Is 3d per bushel; potatoes,-wholesale, £3 2s 6d to £3 lOslper ton ; retail, Us arid 7s per sack ; onions, Id per lb ; bacon, 8d per lb; cheese, 5d per lb; tea, in boxes,. 15s to 18s 6d each ; candles* 9d per lb ; fowls, 2s 6d to 8s per pair ; ducks, 3s per pair. Sheepskins—During the week they held a sale of sheepskins, which realised as follows Medium cross-breds, from 2s to 5s 4d each; merino, inferior, 6d to Is 3d; medium, Is 6d to 2s 9d. Wool.—They have placed 30 bales of scoured wool at a satisfactory price. Grain and Grass Seed. —Wheat: Very little offering, and prices remain at about last quotations, viz., 3s 4d to 3s 6d for red wheat; Bs 6d to 3s 8d for tuscan, and choice parcels of whitecoats are in good request: gopd stout feed -are worth Is 4d to Is 6d per bushel; milling oats, Is Vd' to Is 8d per bushel; barley, no demand. Grass Seed—Any good clean parcels, . farmers’ lots, are easily-placed at from 3S 9d to 4s per bushel; inferior and badly cleaned, according .to sample.
Messrs W. Collins and Co report holding their usual , sale on Saturday. They quote blue potatoes, 6s per sack; kidneys, ss; onions, Id per lb; lard, sd; rolled bacon, 7d ; hams, 9d; fresh butter, honey, 3d; cheese, sd; fowl wheat 6s per sack; oats, Is 4d per bushel; flour, (farmers’) £8 per ton ; bran, 60s ; sharps, 70s ; poultry—previous week’s quotations will suffice—tea, 15s per box; soap, 7s per half owt; white sugar, 4d per lb.; candles, sperm BJd ; flat tobacco, 4s 6d; kerosene, 16s per case. Furniture, crockery, and register grates moved off at owners’ instructions.
