Young Crofts finished his walk last evening, at M. Jonas’ Horse Repository, having eovered his ground (125 miles) in the specified time (24 hours), with something like half-an-hour to spare. A wrestling match for £SO a side took place at Lea and Whitley’s Boxing Saloon this morning between Hudson, of Dunedin and Slade, of Temuka. Slade was victorious, but Hudson, was in poor condition or would have given a better account of himself. Owing to pressure on our space we are compelled to hold over a full report of the match, intended for to-night’s issue, but which will appear on Monday.
