jS. C. Times Office, Monday Evening.' Messrs William Collins and Co. report holding their regular market and sale by auction at their rooms (old post office) on Saturday last of farm produce, general merchandise, and household furniture. The attendance was unexceptionally large, and as a result all lines submitted to the hammer were in good demand at the following figures :—Derwent potatoes, 50s to 60s per ton; kidneys, 455; onions, 7s to 8s per cwt; cheese, 4Jd; honey, 2Jd to 3Jd ; butter, 7d to 8d; bacon, 7d ; flour, £8 per ton ; bran and sharps, nominal; oats (all faults), 4s to 4s 6d per sack ; fowls 1 wheat, 5s to 7s per bag, supply not equal to demand. Poultry were in great supply, and were quitted at good rates. Fowls, 3s to 4s per pair; geese, 8s per pair ; turkeys, 5s to 6s each ; fresh pork, 5d per lb ; box teas, 15s; half chests, 60s; white sugar, 4£d ; sperm candles, B£d ; soap 7s per box ; kerosene, 15s per case. Household furniture, double-barrel guns, and a large assortment of oddments were quitted at figures equal to owners 1 instructions.
