Release of Maori Prisoners

It is understood that the Ilinomoa will leave for Lyttelton this week to convc} T to their homes a considerable number of the Maori political prisoners whom it has been decided to release. Lady Gordon. Lady Gordon is expected to bo a passenger by the Frisco mail steamer from Sydney to Auckland, arriving at Auckland next Thursday. Census Returns. Some doubts having arisen as to the socresy of the census returns the Registrar General writes to (he “ Times” that since he took office the portion of the schedules containing the names has always been severed from the other portion containing the particulars before the old forms were scut to the paper mills, so that no particulars as to any individual can become known to anyone outside the office.
