MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Wednesday, April 13.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 6 a.m.
For Australian Colonies perßotomahana, at 4 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, Continent of Europe, India, China. Africa, Mediterranean ports, and the Australian Colonies, as follows :
Money orders, and registered letters at 2.30 p.m. Ordinary letters at 3.30 p.m. Late fee letters at the Chief Post Office till 4 p.m. Correspondence intended to be forwarded to the United Kingdom by the above mail must be specially addressed. The rate of postage to the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, is 8d per half ounce. Thursday, April 14.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Eingarooma, at 6 a.ra. Saturday, April 10.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, at 2.50 p.m.
The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at Timaru on Saturday, April 28, and will be due at San Francisco, on Thursday, May 19, and at London on Tuesday, June 7, 1881. (Signed) W. W. Beswick, Acting Chief Postmaster. : Chief Post Office, Timaru, April 4, 1881.
