Tauranga, March 31. A celebrated chemist, oE Melbourne, has been sent over by Melbourne capitalists to inspect the sulphur at White Island and report whether it will be advisable to erect a manufactory for the preparation of sulphuric acid and chemical manures. Mr MTvor has returned and is favorably impressed with the resources of the island. He considers that a very important industry can be maintained, Wilson’s sulphur works at Tauranga will be taken over and improved. Mining 1 .
