MR BRYCE AT WANGANUI.
Mr Bryce addressed his constituents at Wanganui last evening. He entered into a ’ lengtly explanation of the circrinlstances that induced him to sever his connection' with the Cabinet. He stated that. .Ministers refused to accept his advice about arresting Te Whiti and bringing Hiroki and other. Maoris accused of outrages and who are now sheltered-by the native?. to justice. He spoke for over two hours and was patiently listened to. A vote of thanks and confidence was moved by Mr Somerville, Chairman of the County Council, and seconded by Mr Sharpe. Mr Geo. Hutchinson speaking to the motion warmly attacked the Government over their land policy, and said the Patetere would prove their grave. He supported the motion, but made a reservation that the action of the Government did not-entitle them to his confidence. The. 1 motion was put and carried unanimously
