COMMERCIAL.
S. C. Times Office. Monday Evening. Messrs William Collins and Co. report holding their regular market and sale by auction on Saturday, of farm produce, general merchandise and furniture. The attendance was large. They quote: Kidney potatoes, 55s ; Derwent, 50s to 60s per ton ; onions, Id per lb, roped l^d; cheese, ,24d to 5d ; honey 3d ; fresh butter, 6d to 9d; bacon, inferior, old, good, 8d; fowll wheat, os to 7s per sack; oats, none entered; flour, £9 per ton; bran and sharps, nominal; fowls, 2s 6d to 3s 6d per pair. Groceries were in great demand, at the following figures:—Box teas, 15s to 20s; half chests, 70s; No. 1 company’s sugar, 44d; Mauritius sugar (all faults), 3|- to 3J per lb; sperm candles, B|d ; soap, 7s per $ cwt; kerosene,l6s per case. Household furniture, china glass and earthenware,and an assortment of oddments found buyers at owners’ instructions.
