Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under Monday, March 21. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Rotorua, at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 24. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Wakatipu, at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26, For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Penguin, at 2,50 p.m. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at Timaru on Saturday, March 26, and will be due at San Francisco, on Thursday, April 21, and at London on Saturday, May 10, 1881.
