Atlantic, aged, 7st 1 Talent, 4yrs, 6st 4lbs ... 2 Luna, 6yrs, Bst lOlbs ... 3 Novel Handicap, of 50 sovs. Star 1 Emerald 2 Swagsman and Sultana were scratched. Emerald would have been the favorite for this event and would probably have won, but for the fact that he changed hands on the previous evening, and his new owner—Davis—insisted on being his own jockey although he was two or three stone overweight. Consolation, 20 sovs. Talent, Bst.Blb 1 Unknown, 6st7lb ... ... 2 Nautilus, 7st 101 b ... ... 3. This was a splendid race.
