MELBOURNE PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs McGregor, Gordon and Co., rejSmb for the weekending March 2,1881 • Breadstuffa. —The price of wheat is without alteration ; 4s OUI is the figure for prime shipping parcels delivered f.o.b. ; prime milling commands 3s 10Ad to 3s lid, and at these ’quotations wc have closed for several lines during the week. The latest cablegram from I.ondon reports an advance of Is per quarter of 4961b5. Barley.—A good plump grain of English is at 3s 2d to 3s 3d, with little doing. Cape is at 2s 2d to. 2s 3.1. Oats. —Thu supplies of iced oats coming forward ,vc heavy, and more than equal our requirements, * We have sold good at 2s 2d to 2s oil ; medium at 2s ; inferior. Is lOd to-ls iOAd. New Zealand milling arc in much request at 2s 4d, in bond. Grass Seed.—A brisk demand has set in from the country for Cocksfoot, and wo have contracted for forward delivery at 3fd per lb. Good rye-grass is readily saleable at 3s 6cl. White clover and prairie are in demand. Tobacco Leaf is enquired for at quotations given below. Dairy Produce.—Cheese—Since our last report we have sold prime at, 4Jd to 44d ; good, 3£d to 3£d. The demand for prime dairies is brisker, .and a healthier tone rules the market. Butler. Potted.—We sold the best private dairies at Od to BJd ; storekeepers’ and other parcels at prices ranging from 4£d for medium to 5Jd for good. Supplies coming forward are small, and prices for good potted are advancing. Butter,. Fresh.—We sold the best lines to-day at Is 3d ; medium to good at fid to lOd. Most lots to hand arrived in bad condition.

Eggs are scarce and in good demand at Is to Is 2d.

We have sold good garden honey at 5Ad, bush at 3|d to 3£d, Country cured hams and bacon arc scarce.
