TIMARU FIRE BRIGADE.
[to the editor] Sir,— Although the unwarrantable attack made on us, individually and collectively, was made in the morning paper, I have to ask you to insert a copy of our manifesto to the Council and the Rule 26 therein referred to, knowing that the public of Timaru are more likely to, peruse the same in your columns than that of your contemporary.’ Rest assured, Sir, that we do not mean to rest easy under the obloquy cast upon us by the “Herald,’’ and we ask the citizens to reserve their verdict until such time as it has been presented to a full meeting of members of the Brigade and the best course of refutation unanimously decided upon.—l am, &c,, T. MURRAY, Capt. T.F.B.
