WANGANUI RACES. [By Telegraph.] First Day, Wanganui, March 10. The following were the concluding events: — Town Plate, of 25 sovs.; welter weights ; one mile and a distance. Foul Play, list 21bs ... (Rae) 1 Billingsgate, list (Freneh) 2 Camella, lOst 121 b ... (MHvor) 3 Frailty and Satanella also ran.

There was £177 in the totalisator, of which £69 was on the winner. Camella got away with the lead, and made the running, Billingsgate and Foul Play next. After half a mile had been covered, only Foul Play and Billingsgate were left in it, and they came into the straight neck and neck. Foul Play gradually forged ahead and finally won by half a length. Camella was a bad third.

Eandwick and Dan first showed in front, and led past the stand, Soukar just in front of Sir George. As they made the top turn Han got his head in front, and with Eandwick on his whip hand made the pace a clinker. At about two lengths interval came Soukar, Sir George next the others tailing off and evidently out-placed. At the half-mile post Sir George made up his ground and toolc third place. He still continued to gain, and when opposite the cattle yards he was within a length of Eandwick. Coming up to the turn for home Sir George got level with the two leaders, and the three came into the straight together. The jockeys on Eandwick and Dan began to ride to hold their own with the colt, but he came away full of running and soon got half a length to the good, which he held to the end, Dan finishing half a length in front of Eandwick.
