The Victoria Pork Shop attracted alaige crowd of loyal colonists to the corner of Church street and Main North Eoad last evening. The premises were decorated in the highest style of the pork butcher’s art. Porkers of ail sizes from the sucking pig to the ponderous giant, all in primes! condition, were arrayed around the walls of the shop, forming an appropriate background, to the neatly dressed hams, shoulders, and sides. In one window was a saddle choicely ornamented with the name of the establishment, while around it glittered sausages, puddings, pies, and ;small goods of every size, shape, and hue imaginable. The shop was brillantly iighted up with reflectors, and although •,the weather was somewhat oppressive, the (display was tempting and appetising. One feature of the establishment deserves .special attention. The exhibition of poultry was a most unusual one, for fowls in such excellent condition, and so cleanly and skilfully dressed, we have rarely witnessed. The Victoria Pork t?hop is destined to be a popular institution and a grand civilizer. Its delicacies ought to sow peace a ,,ri nrlty over every breakfast and di uer table.
