After Leith’s wicket fell yesterday. Hume, the last man, came in, and but few runs were added, when Morrison was bowled by Frith. The innings thus closed for 77, which necessitated a follow on.

Hume and Crawsliaw started battingin the second innings to the bowling of (he Frith’s. Hume did not last long, being caught by Hartland with bis left hand. Haskell joined Crawsliaw, and for some time the gaum was very slow. Crawsliaw after totalling 6 bit the ball hard into Hartland’s hands at mid-on, where it stayed. Paramor now came in, and he made things more lively, rattling up 28 in no tune. His hits included 5 four’s. Haskell being dismissed by a catch in slips gave place to Spring, who shortly after ought to have been out behind the wickets,but the umpire would not allow an appeal. When stumps were drawn for the day the score stood at 46 for the loss of thre ewickets.

THIS DAY. Paramor and Spring, not outs, took places at the wickets. Paramor got Fuller away to leg for a brace, and Spring hie Frith to off for 3. Both batsmen got a single off Fuller, and and Spring cut Frith for 3. Spring scored 2 more, and was then cleaned bowled by Fuller. 4—15—50. Collinson filled the vacancy. Paramor added several singles, and Collinson cut Fuller prettily for 3. Paramor drove Fuller for 3, but Lis time had now come, for he sent one back to Frith, who held it well. 5—37—07. Parker played rest of over, but was bowled by C. Frith before he had scored. o—o—o 9. 11. Morrison succeeded, but his partnership with Collinson was not for long, as the latter was caught by Ashby with one hand, the ball being driven bard. Millington saw 14. Morrison retire after scoring a single. 8 —0 —70. W. Morrison was sent back with a duck’s egg, being caught by C. Frith off his own bowling. 9 —o—7o. The last man, Leith, had placed two singles to his credit when Millington’s stumps were scattered by F ulle r.
