S. C. Times Office. Monday Evening,
Messrs 'William Collins and Co.’s weekly sale on Saturday was largely attended, and the produce and merchandise offered were rapidly cleared out at satisfactory prices. They quote kidney potatoes 98s ; northern grown onions, l£d per lb ; Akaroa cheese, 3Jd to 5d per lb ; butter, (id to 8d ; honey, £7, millers’, £9; barley and oats (all faults), 3s to 3s Gd per sack; fowl wheat, 5s to 7s per sack; fowls, none offering; box teas, 15s to 20s: half-chests, GOs to 70s; white sugar, Lid per lb; sperm candles, 7MI; kerosene, 14s per case; Hobart town jams, Gs per cloz. Household furniture, china, glass, and earthenware and a great quantity of American notions and sundries were moved off at consignors’ invoice prices.
