NEW ZEALAND STEEPLECHASE CLUB.

A meeting of the New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Club was held this afternoon at the Ship Hotel. About 20 members were present, and Mr Teschemaker presided. The balance sheet for the past year showed :—Eeceipts—Subscriptions, £79 3s ; sweepstakes, £184; nominations, £lO7 ; donations, £B7 Gs ; gate money, £BS 7s Gd ; sundries, £237 10s 9d ; total, £7BO 7s 3d. Expenditure, £767 7s Bd. The debit balance had been reduced from £35 2s 8d to £22 3s Id. The financial statement was passed. The following new members \yere elected.:— Messrs J. M. Barker, J. T. Peacock, Dr Boss, C. Bourne, jun., E. B. Cox, Alex. McEae, W. S. Durham, and J. Armytage. The secretary read over several names of members who had declined continuing their subscriptions, and on the motion of Mr Egan, seconded by Dr Lovegrove, it was resolved that the secretary write to the members who have refused to pay their ■ubscriptions, informing them that their names would be removed from the defaultei's’ list if their subscriptions are not paid forthwith. It was decided that the next meeting of the Club should be held at Christchurch. After the transaction of some further routine business the members went into Committee.
