CHAMPION RIFLE MEETING.

[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —The approaching contest for the championship of New Zealand, to be held at Nelson, is close at hand, and I see that they are about sending representatives from all parts of the Colony except Timaru. How is it? have they cot the means, or do they lack confidence? We all"know there are good shots among our present company, members who can give a good account of themselves if present. If means are wanting why not canvass the borough ? I for one shall be most happy to subscribe. —I am &c., Old Volunteer.
