Handicap; acceptances after the Hurdle Race. 1.30 p.m.— Consolation Handicap, of 30 sovs ; post entry, 1 sov ; distance, 1 mile. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Nominations for the Timaru Cup, Flying Handicap, S.C.J.C. Handicap, Hurdle Race, and Winter Oats Handicap to be made to the Seerctarj not later 'than Friday, March 18, at 8 p.m. Weights to be out on Thursday, April 21. Acceptances, with sweep and general entries, up to 8 p.m, on Monday, April 25. No entry w:ll be received for any. of the races except upon this condition- 1 -that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrycarrying out of this programme shall bo final. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Grosvenor Hotel, Timaru, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, qualification fee, description, age, and name of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. Qualification foe to be enclosed with the nomination, or the nomination will be invalid. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. In Hurdle races horses to qualify by jumping hurdle past judge’s box. No person to enter a horse unless ho is a subscriber of £2 2s to the fund, and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator bo subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person i ntering a protest, the sum of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary before; such protest is considered, this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Five percent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys paid in accordance with the programme, for expenses ; and when not otherwise specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the funds. E.
