[Reuter’s Agency.] Produce Trophies. Melrourne, Feb. 8. The following further awards to New Zealand exhibitors are announced: — First prizes—Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, for flax fibre; Colonial Museum, for pJwrmium tenax ; E. H. Banks, (Christchurch), P. Cunningham and Co., and Royse Stead and Co for wheat; McConnell Bros., (Christchurch), for bacon and hams. Second prizes—E. H. Banks, A. Moore and Co., P. Cunningham and Co., E. Parnell, Royse, Stead and Co. (of Christchurch), Western District Agricultural and Pastoral Association (Riverton), Job Vile (Masterton), Netherall Bros. (Havelock), and P. Butel and Co. (Arrow, Otago), for wheat; James Goodwin (Pigeon Bay, Canterbury), for cheese ; James Eagle (Christchurch), for hams and bacon ; McDonald and Miller (Green Island, Dunedin), for bacon.

A. Constitutional Victory.

The election of a member for East Melbourne, in the room of the late Mr A. K. Smith, took place to-day and resulted in the return of Mr Walsh, Constitutionalist, by a large majority.

Destruction of a Pearl Fishery. Perth, Feb. 8,

News has been received that a cyclone of a most severe character, has visited the town of Bochum in the north-west of this colon}', the site of a pearl fishery. Twelve boats used by pearlers have been totally lost.
