Wellington, Feb. 5. The match, Australian Eleven v. Wellington Twenty-two, which was commenced on Saturday resulted in the big- crowd closing ther first innings at 4 o’clock for 82 runs, 21 of which were extras. The bowling and fielding of the visitors were greatly admired. W. Salmon made the top score for the local players, viz., 11 runs. Nine out of the Twenty-two scored duck’s eggs.
