TPee “Times” Special Wirb.l The Seamens’ Strike. Wellington, Feb. 3. The seamen arrested last night, were charged this morning with refusal of duty, and remanded until Saturday. Fatal Accident. At the inquest on Jeffrey who was killed at Guthrie and Larnach’s yesterday, a verdict of accidental death was returned, with a rider that when any belt requires any alteration or removal it should not be done single handed whilst the machine is in motion, but that two persons should be employed. At a meeting of St. Paul’s Presbyterian church last night, it was decided that instrumental music be introduced. No instrument was named, but it is understood it will be an organ. One speaker opposed to the change moved that a cornet should be employed, which led to the suggestion of the bagpipes also. One of the advocates of music said that instruments such as the harp, and trump, were associated with Heaven, but there is no mention of any music in the Bible connected with the the “ other " place, and that only one instrument was referred to in profane writings namely:—The bagpipec.
