MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Wednesday, Feb. 2. For Australian Colonies, per Tararua, at 4 p.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Arawata at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, New South Wales, and Queensland, per Wakatipu, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5. For Northern Ports of New Zealand per Wanaka, at 2.60 p.m. The Stella will be despatched from the Bluff for the West Coast Sounds about the middle of February. Mails will close at Timaru for all Post Offices at the Sounds on or about Feb 12.
The next mail for the United Kingdom via Brindisi will close at Timaru on Tuesday, Feb 8, and will be due in London on March 31.
