First Day. 1 p.m. — Trial Stakes of JO sovs, for horses that have not won 200 sovs in one event, or two events, each of the value of 100 sovs or upwards, up to the time of starting. Distance, about 1£ , miles. 1. p.m.— Sires’ Produce Stakes, of 80 soys; distance, (i furlongs. Colts, Bst lOlbs; fillies, Bst Jibs. Starters to pay a sweep of 5 sovs to go to the second horse. 2. JO p.m.—Timaru Cup, a handicap of 200 sovs, with a sweepstake of J sovs for acceptors; amount accruing from the sweep to go to the second horse ; nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 4 sovs ; distance, 1J miles. 3. p.m.— Flying Handicap, of JO sovs; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov; distance $ of a mile, I.JO p.m. — Selling Hack Race, of JO sovs, presented by M. Nominations for the Timaru Cup, Flying Handicap, S.C.J.C. Handicap, Hurdle Race, and Winter Oats Handicap to .be . nbade to the Secretary not later than Friday, March 18, at S p.m. Weights to be out on Thursday, April 21. Acceptances, with sweep and general entries, up to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 25. ; No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those" whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon fill points connected with the carrycarrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Grosvenor Hotel, Timaru, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, qualification fee, description, age, and name of horse, and colors to bo worn by the jockey. Qualification fee to be enclosed with the nomination, or the nomination will bo invalid. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. ' In Hurdle races horses to qualify by jumping hurdle past judge’s box. No person *o enter a horse unless ho is a subscriber of £2 2s to' the ft.nd, and no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be subscribers of the same amount.
