Murdoch, who was at the wickets close on five hours, played grandly throughout, placing the hall with great judgment and was cheered to the echo on returning tj the pavilion. Alexander, on succeeding Murdoch, hit Fuller a pitch to leg into the hands of Cottcrill. 8—0—230. Tobin signalised his entry by putting Ashby into the slips for four.
