MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject tb the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, Jan. 23.

For Northern Oorts of New Zealand per Kawera, at 2.50 p .*n. i’’or the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, West Indies, via San Francisco, and the Sandwich Islands, as follows:

Money orders, registered letters and newspapers, at 1.30 p m. Ordinary letters at 2.30 p.m. Late fee letters will be received at the CbietTost Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express Train) till 3.10 p.m. The European portion of the above mails will he due in London on March 15, 1831.

The Stella will he despatched from the Bluff for the West Coast Sounds about the middle of February. Mails will close at Timaru for all Post Offices at the Sounds on o i about Feb 12. The ‘next mail for the United Kingdom via Brindisi will close at Timaru on Tuesday, Feb 8, and will be due in London on March 31. (Signed) W. W. Beswick, jActing Chief Postmaster.
