WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.
[By Teleguaph.] Nelson, Jan. 22, The Wesleyan Conference’s eighth annual session was opened last night. Twentysix members were present. The retiring President Rev. R. Lee delivered an address referring to the progress of the past year and the business before the meeting. The election of officers was then proceeded with. Tde Rev. J. B. Richardson of St. Albans was elected President by a large majority. The first ballot for secretary was between the Revs W. Morley and R. Bavin. At the former's request the latter was elected. The Rev H. J. Williams was appointed assistant secretary; the Rev T. G. Carr, journal secretary, and the Rev G. Bond, corresponding secretary. The newly elected president was then installed and delivered an address, A cordial vote of thanks Avas passed to the retiring president and secretary. The Revs Buddie, secretary Morley, and others addressed the meeting, and the Rev Mr Buller, recently returned from England Avas cordially Avelcomed, and gave an interesting account of his home experiences.
The first draft of stations shows the following contemplated ministerial appointments for the year:—Timaru, Beck; Temuka, Law; Lyttelton, Simmonds; Springston, Smalley and F. Martin ; Leeston, Armitage ; Kaiapoi, W. B. Martin; Nelson, Lee; Richmond, Berry; Hokitika, S. Lawrey; Mornington, F. Dewsbury; Balclutha, Gray; Milton, P. Wills; Roxburgh, Buttle; Invercargill, Babin; Tapanui, Murray; Auckland, Grafton Road—Revs. Oliver and Isitt; Upper Thames, Purchell; Manukau Board; Pukekohe, Griffin; Hamilton, Abernethey; Auckland, Smith ; Papanui, Lade; New Plymouth, McNicol and Rouse; Patea, Luxford ; Wanganui, Williams ; Rangitikei, Worke; Sandon, W. Harper; Palmerston North, Lumsden ; Wellington, Kirk and Fairclough; Napier, Bunn. Circuits not named above are to have the same ministers as last year.
