Anti-Chinese legislation. Sydney, Jan. 20,
The Intercolonial Conference met again to-day, the Hon Thos. Dick being present as the representative of New Zealand. The question of the influx of Chinese was under consideration the greater part of the sitting, and a re* solution was finally passed, setting forth that the intaoductibn of Chinese at the public expense in one;,colony, was prejudicial to alli the bolonies. A ! Committee was further appointed to prepare a memorial to the Home-Government on the subject. The memorial will make a representation!in favor of the reversal of the action of the Government of Western Australia in organising a scheme for Chinese immigration. A Steamship Bogged. The steamship Collaroy, belonging to the Newcastle Steamship Company, and a regular trader between Newcastle and Sydney, has run ashore to’the northward of Manley Beach, on the coast near Sydney. It is expected she will get off again soon.
