MELBOURNE PRODUCE MARKET,
The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co., under date Jan. 5, report:— We sold at our usual weekly sale to-day and privately 7,300 bags of grain, and realised for wheat up to 4s Id per bushel. There was a crowded attendance of the trade and lively competition. Flour has been moving off for trade purposes at from £9 *2s 6d-to £9 ss. Wheat—This is in steady demand at quotations. Ordinary to good realised from 3s (Id to Bs 10£d, superior from 3s lid to 4s, and prime up to 4s Id. Bailey has met with fair competition. Ordinary feeding fetched 2s BJd to 2s lOd, and superior descriptions from 3s 6d to 3s and 3s lid per bushel. Oats are moving off steadily. Ordinary feeding realised from 2s Id to 2s 4d, and stout descriptions from 2s 6£d to 2s 8d per bushel.
