BRITISH AND FOREIGN.
[Reoteb’s Agency, j Sensational Reports. London, Jan. 15. Information has been received which seems to prove that an attempt to destroy the armory at Salford, as reported this morning, was actually made. It is now definitely known that an explosion took place, but the cause of the same is a complete mystery. War Declared. Telegrams are to hand from Athens, reporting that the Greek Government has decided that an attack shall be
made at the end of this month, to obtain the required territory in Epirus and Thessaly from Turkey, unless the cession be previously made. In consequence of this information, the Powers are making renewed efforts to prevent an outbreak of hostilities between Turkey and Greece, and to bring about a settlement of the frontier difficulty.
