S. C, Times Office. Monday Evening. Messrs Wildie, Allan, and Stumbles report— Fat Cattle—Their transactions have been 14 head at £lB 17s 6d; sdoat £8 ; 7 do at £7 10s ; and 6 at £6 10s, the average of which would be fully 20s per lOOlbs. Store Cattle—Well grown three-year-old steers are selling at saleable rates. They have placed 40 of thi% class at £5 15s. Younger stock show a slight decline. During the week they sold 14 steers and heifers, two years old, at £4 ss, and 35 yearlings to 15 months at £2 12s Gd. Sheep—Their transactions have been 450 cross-bred hoggets at 7s lOd ; 6000 merino ewes, full mouth, at satisfactory prices; 400 fat cross-breds at 8s 9d ; 150 do do at 9s 6d. They quote mutton to be IJd per lb. Wool, Skins, &c.—Their sale on Thursday last was well attended, and the following prices were realised :—Merino wool, 94d, 9|d, lOd to 10id ; half-bred from 9sd to lo£d ; cross-bred, Bd, Bgd, B|d to 94d ; merino skins from 3s 9d to 4s lid ; crossbred do, 4s Cd, 5s 5d to Gs 3d ; butchers’ pelts, from 7d to lid ; bides, 3jd per lb. Horses.—At their yards on Saturday, 53 horses were entered. The attendance was good, but the sale was a dull one. Nineteen animals found purchasers at, for heavy draughts from £36 to £4l ; medium do do irom £22 to £3O ; light do, £l4 to £2l ; 2 capital light harness horses brought £l6 to £lB respectively ; 3 farm drays, £l4 10#, £ls and £l6 ; 1 D.F. plough, £9 ; 1 pedigree bull calf, £5 : harness, portable forge, Ac., at satisfactory rates.

Messrs William Collins and Co., report holding their regular weekly market and sale by auction on Saturday last. The attendance was above the average, as a result all lines submitted to the hammer found buyers at the following figures : —New potatoes, 5s to 7s a sack ; onions, 24d lb butter, 6d lb ; AVaroa ebeese, 4d to s|d ; local made, 3Jd to 4d ; oats, Is 3d bushel, supply not equal to demand. Fowl corn, 4s 6d to 6s sack ; hams and bacon. 8d all round ; a mixed lot of ful'-woolled sheepskins averaged 4s 6d each ; poultry, none offering ; box teas, 15s to 16s ; half-chest,-65s ; jams, 5s Cd to 7s dozen ; kerosene, 16s case : soap, 7s half-cwt : white sugar, 4RI; yellow, 4d ; sardines, 5s 3d to 7s 9d dozen. Furniture, saddlery, carpenters’ tools, engravings, and a great assortment of sundries were cleared off during the day at prices which cannot fail to give satisfaction to the owners.
