Nominations for the Timaru Cup, Flying Handicap, S.C.J.C. Handicap, Hurdle Race, and Winter Oats Handicap to be made to the Secretary not later than Friday, March 18, at 8 p.m. Weights to be out on Thursday, April 21. Acceptances, with sweep and general entries, up to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 25. No entry will be received for any of the races except upon this condition—that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decisions upon all points connected with the carrycarrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries and acceptances must be in scaled covers, addressed to the Secretary, Grosvenor Hotel, Tiraaru, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, qualification fee, description, age, and name of horse, and colors to be worn by the jockey. Qualification fee to be enclosed with the nomination, or the nomination will be invalid. South Canterbury Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. In Hurdle races horses to qualify by jumping hurdle pa c t judge’s box, The Club has adopted the Victorian new scale of weight for age. No pe'son <o enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of £2 2s to the fund, an 1 no person to nominate unless both owner and nominator be subscribers of the same amount. In the event of any person i ntcring a protest, the sum of £2 2s must bo lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to be forfeite I to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. In all weight-for-age races, the S.C.J.C. weight-for-age scale will be adhered to. The decision of the Stewards to be final in all cases. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys paid in accordance with the programme, for expenses ; and when not otherwise specified, all entries and acceptances to go to the funds. E. This is to notify that William Morgan Rogers of Timaru in the Provincial District of Canterbury New Zealand fishmonger has this day filed a statement that he is unable to meet his engagements with his creditors.
