Groceries were in good demand at the following figures Tea, ex Brisbane, 60s per half chest; do, ex Rio Loge and steamer, los fid to Kis per box; kerosene. 16s per case; whiting, 21s per cask; white sugar, 4£d per lb; yellow, do, Id; soap, 11s per cwt; jams, fis fid to fis fid per dozen; coarse salt, fis per cwt; fine do, fis. Household furniture, china, glassware, and oddments found buyers at satisfactory figures.

Mr K, F. Gray reports for the past fortnight as follows: —He held a sale of stock at Winchester Fair on Wednesday last, and his entries numbered ITO sheep and 88 head of cattle of all descriptions ; but owing to the great inconvenience of the yards he was unable to submit over 25 head of cattle. The following is a list of the stock sold, with prices obtained for the various lots;—Sheep: 110 fat crossbred sheep were sold at 9s 7d. Fat cattle: lb head fetched from £5 15s to £7 2s fid. For this class of cattle theie is still a downward tendency, and sales arc effected with difficulty. Store cattle—From 18 months to 3 years old, 17 head realised from £2 Ifis to £4 Ifis. The demand for stores is considerably decreased, owing no doubt to the late dry weather, but lie hopes to see a mote active demand before next Fair. He has placed several lines of store sheep within the past week—shorn cross-bred two-tooths at fronts 7s to 7s 6 I. and merino wethers from fis to fis fid. Wool—He has quitted 27 bales privately.
