At the Supreme Court this morning, Walter Pringle Gibson was charged with the murder of William Kerrison, Mr Holmes applied for a postponement of the trial till next session, as the plea for the defence, would be insanity, to establish which he would require a month to collect evidence. Early on Sunday a brothel-keeper in the suburbs, named Win. Curran, otherwise Morris, was severely stabbed near the abdomen, left shoulder, and right arm, by a “ respectable ” young man named 'Win. Sangster. Curran was a few months ago sentenced to imprisonment for wounding a man in a house of ill fame. Invercargill Agitators. At a meeting on Saturday a branch of the Irish National Land League was formed, and office-bearers elected. One speaker said an Irish colonist was not of so much benefit to his country as he might be, through having year after year to send home to support his parents, who under proper land laws would not require such aid; It is intended to hold a public meeting in connection with the* League.
