S. C. Times Office. Saturday Evening. The weather for some time past has been most favorable for the crops, which are fast ripening all over the district. Last year owing to the abundance of moisture there was too much >traw, and the grain itself suffered. This season the dry weather, followed by gentle showers, has filled the heads, and a heavier return of grain may safely be anticipated. The markets are qojet, and prices are stationary. Wheat of first class quality may be quoted at 3s lid to 4s 3d, and oats are worth from lOd to Is for feed samples to Is Bd to Is Gd for milling. New potatoes are scarce, and the dairy produce market shows signs of improvement. Dunedin Jan. 7. Grain. —The local ■market for wheat is dull, millers not caring to operate except at reduced rates.
