Wk have commented repeatedly on the cheap-and-nasty jury system that predominates in the colonies, and especially in New Zealand. The fruits of that system arc too well known to need to be particularised. Some examples were offered at the late Criminal Sessions in Timaru, but these were only a drop in the bucket.
