THE RAILWAY DETECTIVE EPISODE.
Mr Galbraith informs us that the statement made in Court to the effect that he was suspended as station-master at Washdyke for irregularities in his books, is at variance with the facts. The following is a copy of the'official letter which he received from the General Traffic Manager Christchurch, Dec. 28, 1880. Mr o. E. Galbraith, S.M., Washdyke, You are suspended from duty for being asleep at your post at 12.40 p.m. on the 24th inst., and tk ruby delaying the South express. Fkkd. Back.
