MAIL NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places- (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Thursday, Dec 60. For Northern Ports of New, Zealand, per Wanaka, at 2 50 p.m. Friday, Dec, 61. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, West Indies, Africa, Ac, via San Francisco, and the ’ Sandwich Is* lands, as fol'o vs‘ Money orders at 4 p;ra.’ Registered letters at 5 p.rii. Letters, hooks, and newspapers, at 10 p.m. Late fee letters bearing one additional rate per letter, may be posted at the Railway travelling Post Cilice mail van (Noithern Express Train) till 6.20. The above mails will be due at San Francisco on Jan. 27, and London on Peb. 15, 1881. Saturday, Jan, 1. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Arawata at 6 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day) being a Post Cilice holiday, all Post Cilices in the postal district of Timaru will be closed on that day. Local mails usually despatched on Saturdays, will be closed on Friday, the 61st iust. at 8 p.m The Chief Post Cilice, Timaru, will be open to the public on Friday evening, from 8.60 to 9.60 p.m., for the delivery of letters from the delivery departments, also those usually delivered by the letter carriers (Signed) W.
