A POORLY-PAID STAR.

The principal actors in the recent Passion play’at Oberammergau, in Bavaria, which came to a close on Sept. 27 have gone to Italy to take a well-earned holiday after their labors. During this time the scenery and properties will be put in repair for future use. Christ, received £3O as his share; that is, not £1 a night. The number of spectators, who came from all parts of the world, reached 175,000, and included tbo King and Queen of Wurtemburg, the Prince Imperial of Germany, the Grand Duchess of Baden, and the Bishop of Salzburg.
