Hayhurst, Esq., Temuka John Bradshaw, Esq., Otaio John Buckle, Esq., Arowhenua Joshua Page, Esq., Timaru John Talbot, Esq., Temuka. Bankers: National Bank of New Zealand (Limited). Solicitor : A. St. G. Hamersley, Great North Road, Timaru. Hon. Treasurer; Joshua Page, l£sq. Hon. Secretary, pro teji Jbhn Bradshaw, Esq. The Promoters of this Association wish to bring before the public of Canterbury’ the great gains to be derived by establishing in their midst a Company to be worked purely on co-opera-tive principles, having certain objects for the furtherencc of farming interests, and offering a great financial saving to each individual member of the public who may become a shareholder. The Promoters, also, have great confidencc in bringing this Association before the public, as similar co-operative institutions have been most successful in all parts of the world. Amongst the most important objects of the Association are the following : To procure for its members greater facilities than at present exist, for the shipping of their produce-to the consuming, markets of the world. This the Association will do by exporting the produce for its Shareholders at the lowest latcs in chartered ships, allowing Shareholders advances on the produce bo shipped or deposited with the Cunpany fur shipment or sale at the lowest rates. This the Promoters think will be of the greatest advantage, as the rates usually charged in Canterbury arc excessively high. The Shareholders of the Association will therefore be in a position to ship their produce for sale to the best markets, instead, as has been so often the case, especially last season, of being forced to sell in this country at most ruinous prices, and far below the value in other markets. Also groat benefit will be found in that the Association will procure cornsacks, wool packs, agricu'tural implements, seeds, and all arlides of consumption at the lowest cost, that are useful to its shareholders. By these means great saving will be effected, as the difference between the price of all articles in New Zealand and in the places of their manufacture, whether of husbandry or of general consumption, is far greater than many individual purchasers are aware of. The Association will undertake any business and make all arrangements that may be necessary with other firms for (he furtherance and better carrying out of its objects. The Directors arc empowered by the Articles of Association to make ad--1 vanccs to its Shareholders on properties or other securities as they may think fit. The benefits derivable from the As* socialion will be strictly confined to its Shareholders. The profits of the Association, after paying interest at the rate of 7 percent per annum on paid-up capital, will be divided amongst all the Shareholders pro rata according to the amount of business done by each Share holder. A meeting of the Provisional Directors will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Timaru, on Saturday, November 27, when the shares then applied for will be allotted, and the date for the general meeting of Shareholders fixed for the appointment of Directors and the settlement of the Articles of Association. Forms of application for shares and any information may bo had at the Cilices of the National Bank, Timaru, and its branches, any of the Directors, Mr Roger Kitt, of Waimate; and Mr Corbett, of Geraldine. Intending applicants can peruse the proposed Articles of Memorandum of Association at either the National Bank Offices, Timaru ; or at the offices of A. St. G. Hamersley, Solicitor, Great North road, Timaru.
