FATAL ACCIDENT AT THE HOOK.

SECOND EDITION

A painful and fatal accident occurred at the Hook last evening, the victim being a young man of 21 years named Walter Goostrce, son of a well-known settler in the neighborhood. He was bringing in a load of wood from the bush to bis home, about six o’clock. Going down a somewhat steep bill the leader’s traces became unfastened and lie was endeavoring to book the chain when the near shaft horse trod on his foot and be was thrown beneath the wheel. Singularly enough the wheel did not pass over him, but, striking him in the chest, thrust him out of the track. He was picked up, crushed and bleeding, by some men who were passing, and conveyed to bis parents' home, where bo died, about 8 p.m., or two hours after the occurrence.
