SLY-GIiOG SKIiLIG• George Sunnaway was charged on four informations with sly-grog selling. Accused who was undefended, admitted one charge as correct. A fine of £2O was inflicted in each of the second and fourth charges, in default of payment two months’ imprisonment. The other cases were withdrawn. A similar charge against Thomas Henry George Smith, for whom Mr White appeared, was dismissed. ALLEGED LARCENY. John Boyes wss charged with the larceny of a dray valued at £7, the property of James M‘Guinness. Mr Hawkins appeared for the informant, and Mr Clement for the defendant. The case was dismissed, and the’Bench expressed surprise at the charge being laid. Two similar charges against R. O’Brien and Samuel Case were also dismissed. CIVIL CASES. Waimate County Council V. J. Caliannn, claim £37 18s fid ; Air W' hite for .plaintiff, and Mr Hamersley for defendant; judgment was recorded for the plaintiif with costs, £3 Gs.—J. Roach v. Lawler, claim £7l, for wages ; Mr Clement for plaintiif ; judgment by default, with costs, £6 Gs.—The interpleader cases of Cameron Brosv. Talbot and W. C. Creba v Hinton were adjourned again for one week. One case was settled out of Court.
